I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. I received my Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Before that, I received my B.Eng. from Nankai University, China.

My research aims to advance AI-powered cyber-physical systems (CPSs) and Internet of Things (IoT) systems by addressing critical real-world challenges (e.g., robustness, security, privacy, efficiency, multi-modal fusion, etc.) and developing novel sensing technologies powered by AI. Some ongoing topics include:

  • Robust and Secure AI for CPS/IoT:
    • Physical-world adversarial example attacks
    • Vulnerability analysis and attack mitigation of adversarial examples in critical systems (e.g., autonomous driving and smart grids).
  • AI-Powered Novel Sensing Applications:
    • Acoustic-based indoor localization and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM)
    • Large foundation models for sensing
  • Privacy-Preserving CPS/IoT:
    • Data obfuscation for privacy-preserving mobile-cloud inference
    • Defenses against gradient inversion attacks in federated learning
  • Efficient and Personalized Edge Sensing
    • Physics-guided data augmentation for efficient model adaptation
